Tone and Treatment
- The Movie is a beautiful visual exploration of the SURFERS DREAM. The spiritual quest that all surfers aspire to. The exotic beach locations combined with the spiritual journey, Buddhist statues, Hindu Gods and shrines, forbidden cities and ruined temples that work together to create a rich palette to paint a story.
- As Ian travelled most of the JOURNEY alone, we will make use of the devise of a JOURNAL to track his INNER JOURNEY.
- We will use two narrative techniques to open up the INNER JOURNEY of the protagonist
- The first is a devise of a TRAVEL JOURNAL, this will give us access to Ian’s inner thoughts as he undergoes his quest recording his OBSERVATIONS and his RESPONSES to all he experiences.
- An INNER VOICE, which we refer to as the “INNER VOICE OF SURFING” – this being Ian’s voice that we hear, as he expounds on the philosophy of SOUL SURFING. It will use surfing as metaphor for the JOURNEY and ultimately will reflect the incredible supernatural experience that Ian undergoes when he meets his creator and experiences the PERFECT WAVE of DIVINE LOVE.
- The movie lends itself to a strong SOUNDTRACK, that will resonate with the current generation.
- The Movie will be multi faceted and will combine travel, spiritual exploration, surfing, relationships and a life changing encounter with the KING OF GLORY.
